Through ongoing discussions and negotiations with industry, we have specifically chosen the qualification RII20120 Certificate II in Resources and Infrastructure Work Preparation https://training.gov.au/Training/Details/RII20120 for this program. This provides a clear career pathway into the mining and resources sector.

The Certificate II in Resources and Infrastructure Work Preparation introduces you skills and knowledge related to (but not limited to) :
Mine site safety
Policies /procedures and legislation
Isolating equipment and plant
Effective communication
Working at height and confined spaces plus,
Using & maintaining tools/equipment
Environmental care and sustainability
Once completed, you can progress on to further study with Breight Education or you may gain credit towards an apprenticeship or traineeship with another training provider/employer.
Logistics
Length of Course
1 day a week over 20 weeks.
Hours
The hours of attendance are 8.30am to 4.30pm
Additional learning requirements
It is expected that participants will required to participate in an additional minimum of 60 hours of OUT OF CLASS online reading and research over the 20-week period.
Learning resources required
Participants will need to have access to a laptop or computer with internet access
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
PPE items are required for entry into the training facility workshop area are long sleeve high visibility shirt, long work pants and steel capped safety boots
Entry Requirements
CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (White Card) requires the participant to provide proof of current Western Australia residency.
Participants must also be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
Fees and Charges
The Certificate II in Resources and infrastructure Work Preparation course delivered through Breight Education is a FEE for SERVICE course. An application for an educational scholarships may be requested directly from Breight Education. Eligibility criteria will need to be met and will determined through the expression of interest (EOI) submitted. This can be accessed through your VET Coordinator for schools or on request through Breight Education for other candidates. A deposit of $500.00 is required to confirm a place in the course. The remaining course cost needs to be received within four [4] weeks of the enrolment application being received by the Administration Team. Additional costs will be associated with the required purchase of Personal Protective Equipment [PPE] required for the course including the following items:
Steel/composite capped work boots
Long sleeve High Visibility Shirt
Long work pants
Student Responsibilities and Code of Conduct
When enrolling into a vocational course, candidates take direct responsibility for their own learning. This means not just attending scheduled classes; but actively engaging in the learning, respecting the adult learning environment and all those around them.
All participants or a parent/guardian (under 18 years of age) will be required to sign a BT-ADM-ENR-003 Enrolment Consent Form which includes photographic consent, code of conduct and release of information details required whilst undertaking a course through Breight Education.
Accessibility and Learning Support
Our VET Delivered to Secondary Students program welcomes all students.
If you require learning, wellbeing or personal support while at Breight Education please discuss your needs with your school. Your school will advise us of the support that will be provided to you while you are attending classes, and how the trainers can ensure that your support requirements are accommodated.
We will also request that you complete a language literacy or numeracy support questionnaire. Through the completion of this questionnaire, we can determine if you require any additional support whilst undergoing training with Breight Education to support you in your studies. Health & Safety
Breight Education strives to provide an environment that supports the health and wellbeing of all our participants. The training centre will:
Promote a friendly and inclusive environment where bullying and any form of harassment are not accepted. Any student experiencing bullying or harassment of any kind should inform a staff member immediately.
Follow the relevant OSH policy, guidelines, and practices.
Provide first-aid assistance to candidates.
Implement the Emergency Response Plan in case of an emergency.
Arrange medical attention and/or contact the parent/guardian if any injury or illness is sustained and requires medical attention whilst at the facility. Please note that any costs, incurred because of accident or illness, are the responsibility of the individual or parent/guardian.
Permission, confirmation and enrolment
For those currently attending high school, the VET Coordinator MUST be aware of your desire to attend this course and that the school and your legal guardian supports your application into this course. You would have been provided with a link to complete an expression of interest confirming this BEFORE you enrol and pay your deposit.
